Mount Halimun Salak National Park is located at West Java, at least 100 km southwest of Jakarta. Its location includes the territory of Bogor, Sukabumi and Lebak (Banten province) districts. The National Park has a width of 113.357 acre. It is a greatest mount tropical rainforest in Java island. There are several mounts here with a height of 1600 metre above the sea level (mdpl) up to more than 2200 mdpl.

For visitor and tourist who just want to spend vacation with family and friends, there are many tourism places at the foot of the mount with the height of 1200 above the sea level. Some of them are Curug Macan (Tiger waterfall) and Goa Macan (Tiger cave). The place named tiger because as the story goes, panthers often visited both places. We also can visit tea plantation and farmer's villages.

As you wander the forest, you will meet some wild animals. Even if you are lucky you will see directly Owa Jawa (hylobates miloch) and Javanese Eagle. Javanese eagles are often visible flying above the canopy of the forest. So if you are fond of watching them, you may see up on the sky more frequently. Sometimes, the track of Javanese panther (panthera pardus melas) and wild boar are visible at the route looptrail.

The National Park forest is full of various trees. Many of them have the height above 30 metre and with diameter of 2 metre. There are also various plants such as bracken, rattan, forest orchids and soil fire flower which has color bright red. The voices of various wild animals will accompany us along the trip.

CIKANIKI OBSERVATION POST
Tired of passing thorugh the forest, visitors can rest at Cikaniki observation post. At the location, there are canopy trail and root bridge. The bridge is a drawbridge connecting between rasamala trees with length fo 100 metre, 0,6 metre width and at the height of 20 - 25 metre above the land. There is also wodden ladder to go up.

On the bridge and at the observation posts on every Rasamala trees, we can watch groups of Sepah birds which have bright red color. The birds was flying beautifully between the trees, remember us about war planes.

Unfortunately since last January, the bridge was close to the tourists because some part of it were decayed. But perhaps we will be comforted by seeing not far from the canopy bridge round mushroom habitat. Some of them has diameter 0,5 centimetre.
