The Legendary Soka Beach at Bali

If you visit Bali, Gilimanuk will be your first touchdown from Java. From here to Denpasar, for example, you have to travel for another 128 kilometres. But there is no need to worry because The Trans Sumatra-Java-Bali-Lombok Highway is very smooth and comfortable. Moreover, almost two-third of the route will follow the southern coast of the west part of this beautiful small island, called Bali.

Nevertheless, there is something else that will not bore you. Because the view presented along the road is so beautiful and enchanting. Furthermore it is enchanced by the rapid change in the nuance of one landscape into the other, not making it monotonous.

Thousands of coconut trees stand in a row to fence in this beach adding to its magnetic attraction. In short, you will be at a loss of words to describe the enchanting impression of your trip.

Nevertheless, before reaching Denpasar, it is advisable to rest for a while in order to get rid of all of your stress. There are several places along the route to select from. For example, Soka Beach, 46 kilometres before Denpasar. This is also the end of your trip along the coast.

This beach is not unfamiliar in the tourism world. besides enjoying the virgin beach, there is also the legend of Kebo Iwa. Payuk Kebo Iwa and his kitchen are found on this beach. As we all know, Kebo Iwa was the commander-in-chief of the Bendahulu kingdom who died after his duel with Maha Patih Gadjah Mada.

There is a bar, a shop and a toilet at the beach. This place is also used by the fisherman as their base and as a traditional fishmarket. During the fishing season it is very crowded. Many visitors come here including foreign tourists.

On Hindu holidays Soak Beach is crowded by visitors. It is often livened up by refreshing and attractive performances such as the Bumbung Dance where the visitors can dance together with the beautiful Bumbung dancers with their graceful movements.
