17 Countries Join SAIL BANDA

108 participants from 17 countries join Sail Banda 2010. Participants extrication held by one of Indonesian Minister Fadel Muhammad at Saturday, July 24, 2010 at Darwin, Australia.

It was reported that the participants' release escorted by two Indonesia warship, i.e. KRi Hiu Macan Tutul 01 and KRI Hiu Macan 006. The two ship were also escorted participant's yachts from Darwin to Banda Island, Central Maluku.

It is also announced that 62 of 108 participants would sail to Kupang, Nusa Tenggara Timur province of Indonesia. Whereas 46 of them would continue sailing to Banda and follow sail rally. 12 of 46 participants would enter into Sail Competition to fight over reward 5000 US dollar.

It was reported from Banda that the maritime tourism program Sail Banda would have been going on until August 17, 2010. Two locations would be used to hold the program, i.e Ambon city and Banda archipelago. On that account, local people was really expected to participate Sail Banda in order to bring positive impact for people economic development and preserve people maritime culture.
